This year’s scariest movie Paranormal Activity, released nationwide on October 16, 2009.
Paranormal Activity had several screenings before being released nationwide. The movie is seen as a documentary film such as past movies, The Blair Witch Project and The Last Broadcast. Although the budget for the movie was only $15,000; Paranormal Activity has made $86,944,269.
The characters as well were fictional. It was directed by Oren Peli and produced by Steven Spielberg and Jason Blum.
The movie centers on a couple; Katie, a student and Micah, a day trader. Katie is the one who has been haunted by a demonic entity ever since she was 8 years old. When Katie tells Micah that she thinks that the demonic entity had followed her into their new house, Micah buys a video camera hoping to get some footage of the paranormal activity. Throughout the entire movie, the footage that Micah had hoped he receive is terrifying and shocking.
Paranormal activity has three alternative endings of which were seen differently in the first screenings as well in theaters.
Paranormal Activity is spine tingling and suspenseful. It’s a must see movie for all who love the thrill of being scared to death.
